41 61 571 Removing and installing/replacing left or right hood hinge (hood removed) (vehicles with active pedestrian protection)

WARNING: Danger of injury!

Adhere to SAFETY INFORMATION so as to avoid a danger of injury by the actuator.

IMPORTANT: The BATTERY EARTH LEAD must be clamped off prior to work on the hinge or engine compartment lid!

Necessary preliminary work

Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD
Remove ACTUATOR (active pedestrian protection)

Removal

Remove water drain channel (1).

Release screws (1) and remove hinge.

Installation

Install hinge and tighten screws (1).

Tightening torque 41 61 2AZ .

Install the water drain channel (1).

Required follow-up work:

ADJUST hinge together with engine compartment lid
