Removing and installing complete rear left or right power electric windows (Cooper Convertible)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2021 MINI Cooper, 2020 MINI Cooper, 2019 MINI Cooper, 2018 MINI Cooper, and 2017 MINI Cooper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Preliminary work needed:

Remove rear side TRIM PANEL .
Remove inner window CHANNEL STRIP .
Remove outer window CHANNEL STRIP .

Removal:

Release screws (1) on the connecting bracket (2).

Remove connecting bracket (2).

Unscrew the screws (1).

Release wiring harness mounting (1).

Close side window completely.

Loosen screw (1) (do not release).

Pull out power electric windows slightly upwards.

Disconnect the plug connection on the flat motor.

Remove power electric windows.

Installation:

Connect plug connection on flat motor.

Feed in power electric windows.

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 51 37 5AZ .

Clip in wiring harness mounting (1).

Adjust distance between side window glass and side panel:

Gaps (A and B) between side window (1) and side panel (2):

Dimension (A) = 20.5 ±1 mm

Dimension (B) = 13.5 ±1 mm

IMPORTANT: Side window glass must shift into the seal correctly when convertible top is closed.

Tighten screws (1) on power electric windows (2).

Tightening torque 51 37 3AZ .

Attach connecting bracket (2).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 37 4AZ .

Required follow-up work:

Install inner window CHANNEL STRIP .
Install outer window CHANNEL STRIP .
Install rear TRIM PANEL .
