Removing and installing/replacing door window glass, front left or right (Cooper Convertible)

WARNING:

Carry out work on power windows with de-energized power window motors only.
Carry out work on power windows with de-energized power window motors only.
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove SOUND INSULATION on front door.
- Remove outer window CHANNEL STRIP .
Removal:
Slacken multipoint head cap screws (1) on ring gear with special tool 51 3 240.
NOTE:
Slacken the multi-tooth screw on the ring gear (1) until it can be easily removed using the Torx socket (2).
Open door window glass (1) to dimension (x) until multipoint head cap screws (2) are accessible.
Dimension x = approx. 150 mm
IMPORTANT:
Injury hazard!
Disconnect plug connection (3) at power window motor (pinch hazard).
Disconnect plug connection (3) at power window motor (pinch hazard).
Release multipoint head cap screws (2).
NOTE:
Door window glass (3) remove for purposes of clarity.
Raise holder (1) at lug (2) and remove door window glass (3) in upward direction.
Installation:
Make sure door window glass (1) is correctly seated on holder (2) and window guide (3).
Tighten multipoint head cap screws (2) hand force.
Connect plug connection (3) to power window motor.
Close door window glass (1).
Tighten multipoint head cap screws (1) on ring gear with special tool 51 3 240.
Tightening torque 51 33 2AZ .
Required reworking :
- Adjust door WINDOW GLASS
- Install outer window CHANNEL STRIP .
- Power window NORMALIZATION .
- Carry out the power windows and crush guard functional check
- Install the SOUND INSULATION in the front door.
