Removing and installing/replacing retractor (Cooper Convertible)

Preliminary work needed:

Remove rear tailgate lid TRIM PANEL .

Removal:

WARNING: Bowden cable retractor is under tension (injury hazard).

Unlock clamp (1) and shift it in arrow direction.

Remove the Bowden cable retractor (2) from the ball pivots.

Unscrew the screws (1).

Release cable tie (2) and remove retractor (3).

Installation:

Install retractor (3).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 24 8AZ .

Mount cable tie (2).

Shift the clamp (1) against the direction of the arrow.

Engage Bowden cable retractor (2) on the ball pivots.

Required follow-up work:

Install the tailgate lid TRIM PANEL .
