52 26 011 Removing and installing/replacing backrest for left rear seat

IMPORTANT:

Microencapsulated screws must be coated with Loctite if they are to be reused
Screw connection must be completed within 20 min. (start of harden)
Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened.
Thread of nut must be cleaned beforehand in event of repeated use

Preliminary work needed:

Remove REAR SEAT

Removal:

Release screw (1) of the strap fitting (2).

Remove end lining (2).

Unlock and fold both rear seat backrests.

Lift off cover (1).

Loosen screw (1).

Take off holder (2).

Put up rear seat backrest (1) at an angle of approx. 45 °.

Feed out frame (2) of rear seat backrest (1) upwards out of mounting (3) firstly at the center.

Feed out frame (2) of rear seat backrest (1) out of guide (4) in direction of center of vehicle.

Installation:

Feed in rear seat backrest (1) into guide (4) at an angle of approx. 45 °.

Feed in frame (2) of rear seat backrest (1) into mounting (3).

Feed in holder (2).

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 52 26 2AZ .

Clip in cover (1).

Fold up and lock both rear seat backrests.

Mount end lining (2).

Tighten screw (1) of the strap fitting (2).

Tightening torque 72 11 22AZ .
