52 13 002 Removing and installing front seat, passenger's side

IMPORTANT: The side airbag is integrated in the front seat.

Improper handling may trigger the side airbag and as a result cause injuries.

Observe SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR HANDLING COMPONENTS OF AIRBAG SYSTEM .

Installation note: 

Removal: 

Slide cover (1) on safety belt (2) upwards.

Turn end lining (2) towards rear.

Pull lock washer (1) outwards carefully.

At the same time, feed out end lining (2) towards front.

Remove end lining (2) outwards.

Adjust front seat completely to the rear.

Unscrew the screws (1).

Adjust front seat completely to the front.

Unscrew the screws (1).

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).

IMPORTANT: Cover entrances with protective covers

(risk of damage!)

Carefully lift out front seat.

WARNING: When carrying out further work on the front seat, it is absolutely imperative to observe the safety regulations on handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical seat belt tensioners

Improper handling can lead to triggering of the pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner or side airbag, resulting in injuries.

Installation: 

Installation note: 

Carefully lift and position front seat in vehicle.

Connect the connector (1).

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 52 10 1AZ .

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 52 10 1AZ .

Feed in end lining (2) and engage.

IMPORTANT: Pull end lining (2) in arrow direction until the lock plate (1) engages audibly.

Retaining tab (1) must engage correctly behind the bolt (2).

Attention! 

Malfunction if detent is not correct.

Ask a second person to check the detent (two person principle).

Both persons must document that the work has been carried out correctly in the vehicle records.

Slide cover (1) on safety belt (2) downwards.

IMPORTANT: Perform the concluding check:
Pull end lining forward, upward and backward.
If the end lining is not correctly engaged, it cannot be turned on the bolt!
