Replacing Rear Left Outer Wheel Arch Section With Reinforcement (Rear Quarter Panel Removed) (Cooper Clubman F54)
Follow procedure for REPAIR STAGE 3 .
Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .
For stripping and rigging operations, refer to texts on KSD CD (job number 41 14 502).
Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .
Use only approved SPOT WELDER for repairs.
Following new body parts are required (see applicable BMW Parts Catalog):
- (1) Outer wheel arch section, rear left
- (2) Wheel arch extension, left
- (3) Middle side frame
Shaped part, C-pillar
Following CONSUMABLES are required:

Removal
Mark severance cuts (1) and (2) and cut according to schematic diagram.
Open welded connections in areas (3).
Release C-pillar reinforcements from cavity sealing (4) and remove.
Open welded connections in areas (1).
Open welded connections in areas (1).
OPEN spot-welded adhesive joints in area (2).
Release outer wheel arch section from cavity sealing (3) and remove.
New Part Preparation
Mark and make severance cuts on reinforcement for C-pillar (new side frame center part) as per severance cuts on vehicle.
Prepare REINFORCEMENT PLATES at severance cuts.
Remove adhesive residues in the area (1).
Prepare new parts for joining through welding and adapt in combination with side panel.
Installation
Install new part and weld in the areas (1) and (2)
Weld new part in area (1).
Install new part and reinforcement plates and weld in areas (1).
Apply body sealant immediate prior to the installation of the side frame only.
Inner cavity sealing: Insert cavity foam HS3 through the openings (1).
