Replacing Engine Mount In Front Of Wheel Arch, Left (Cooper Clubman F54)

Follow procedure for REPAIR STAGE 3 .

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

For set-up work, see the surrounding texts on KSD CD (FRU number 41 11 095).

Use only an approved SPOT WELDER for repairs!

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

The following new parts are required (see applicable BMW Parts Catalog):

Engine mount, outer
Engine mount, inner

Removal

View of inside engine mount:

Mark severance cut in accordance with Dimension a and cut.

IMPORTANT: Offset severance cuts!
Cut engine mount inner panel only!

Dimension a = approx. 75 mm from edge of cutout.

Open welded connections in areas (1).

View of outside engine mount:

Open welded connections in area (1) of the severance cut.

Mark severance cut (1) in accordance with dimension a and cut.

Dimension a = 25 mm from center point of 20 mm dia. hole.

Remove section of engine mount.

NOTE: Beneath the separating cut (1), there is a bulkhead. The bulkhead will also be renewed. The bulkhead on the new part will be used as reinforcement plate.

New part preparation

Mark severance cuts on new parts according to severance cuts on vehicle and sever.

Prepare engine mount inner part REINFORCEMENT PLATE on separating cut.

The bulkhead (1) on the engine mount outer part will be used as reinforcement plate.

Adjust new parts to fit with alignment bracket or universal mounting.

Prepare new parts in areas (1) up to (3) for joints through welding.

Installation

Install new parts and reinforcement plates with alignment bracket or universal mount.

Weld new parts in areas (1) to (3).
