- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the BATTERY GROUND LEAD from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- Removing the front seat from the universal seat mount
- Disconnect the special tool 0 496 519 (61 4 150)
from the wiring harness of the vehicle and from the removed front seat.CAUTION: Heavy component.
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage.- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Remove front seat from the special tool 2 473 334
.NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Scratches.
Tools and sharp-edged components can cause scratches.- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Cover the door sill using protective covers.NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Heavy component.
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage.- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- With the assistance of another, lift the front seat into the vehicle and position.
- Place front seat to the rear and connect the connector (1).
- Adjust the front seat to the rear.
- Replace screws (1).

- Tighten down screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
Seat to body Cheese head screw with collar Replace screw. Tightening torque 42 Nm - Adjust front seat forward.

from the wiring harness of the vehicle and from the removed front seat.
- Disconnecting all battery ground leads
