Removing/installing ball sockets with clip
Attention!
Never lift off ball socket with engaged clamp.
Version A:
- Push the clamp in the direction of the groove using a screwdriver
- Lift off ball socket from ball hub
- Slide clamp back
- Fit ball socket on ball pivot and snap into place using force
Installation note:
Add the grease to the socket in two opposite positions. The grease spreads all around the ball socket after installing on the ball hub.
Version B:
Attention!
Risk of damage!
In the event of careless operation, the retaining spring (2) can be bent to such an extent that the entire drive spindle must be replaced.
Press the drive spindle (1) against the ball hub so that the retaining spring (2) on the ball hub is relieved.
Pull out retaining spring (2) approx. 2-3 mm with screwdriver (3).
Detach spindle foot.
Electrical spindle drive for trunk lid is under mechanical spring load!
The component must be secured against falling down.
Attention!
Risk of damage!
Do not press on spindle drive at an angle or twisted.
Installation note:
Press ball socket (1) onto ball hub (2) until retaining spring (3) engages correctly (clicking sound).
Attention!
If retaining spring (4) is damaged!
Release pin (1).
Remove spindle drive (3).
Remove ball socket (2).
Remove retaining spring (4) and replace if necessary.
