Removing and installing/replacing cable for front engine compartment locks (in engine compartment)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove both front LEFT ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID LOCK  and RIGHT ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID LOCK 

Removal: 

Unclip deflection (1) from lock carrier (2).

Unclip coupling (1) from lock carrier (2).

Open coupling (1) and disengage cable (3).

Release cable with coupling (1) from retaining clips and feed out.

Installation: 

Feed in cable with coupling (1) and attach in retaining clips.

Clip in coupling (1) into lock carrier (2).

Attach cable (3) and close coupling (1).

Unclip coupling (1) from lock carrier (2).

Open coupling (1) and disengage cable (3).

Release cable with coupling (1) from retaining clips and feed out.

Carry out functional check with hood open.

Required reworking: 

• Install both front LEFT ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID LOCK  and RIGHT ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID LOCK .
