Removing and installing/replacing the door lock of the driver's door

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove CARRIER  or outer door handle.

Removal: 

Unclip locking rod (1).

Unlock plug connection and cable clip from inside and disconnect.

Unfasten screws (2 and 3).

Feed out door lock (4).

Replacement: 

Remount Bowden cable (1) to door lock (2).

Installation: 

Insert door lock (4).

Tighten screws (2) first, then tighten screw (3).

Tightening torque 51 21 1AZ .

Clip in locking rod (1).

Connect plug connection and all cable clips from inside.

Required reworking: 

• Install SUPPORT  for outer door handle.
