Removing and installing (replacing) the front door sensor, left (Cooper)

Failure to observe correct procedures can deploy the airbag and cause injuries.

Preliminary work needed: 

• Partially remove the SOUND INSULATION from the front door.

Removal: 

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Slacken nut (2).

Remove sensor (3) downwards.

Installation: 

Position sensor (3) correctly.

Tighten nut (2).

Tightening torque 65 77 4AZ .

Join and lock plug connection (1).

Required reworking: 

• Attach SOUND INSULATION at front door.
