Removing and installing/replacing seat frame on left or right front seat
The seat frame has very sharp edges that can cause injuries from cuts.
Exercise extreme caution and wear hand protection as required when carrying out any repair work in the area of the seat frame.
Guide all cables carefully through seat and backrest mechanism.
Make sure cable is routed without kinks and tension.
Make sure plug connections are correctly locked.
Make sure connectors are correctly seated in detents.
- Microencapsulated screws must be coated with Loctite if they are to be reused
- Screw connection must be completed within 20 min. (start of harden)
- Microencapsulated screws must not be retightened.
- Thread of nut must be cleaned beforehand in event of repeated use
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove SEAT MODULE .
- Remove the LOWER STRAP .
- Remove seat cover with upholstery. Refer to: DRIVER'S SEAT (NORMAL/MANUAL) or DRIVER'S SEAT (SPORT/MANUAL) .
Removal:
Use of the universal seat mount is recommended for carrying out professional repairs.
Equipment specification with Isofix:
Drill out rivet (1).
Take off holder (2).
Remove remnants of rivets.
Shift the backrest into an upright position.
Release left and right screws (4).
Completely remove the backrest (5) to the top.
If necessary, feed out cable and set aside rear seat backrest.
Replacement:
Drill out rivet (1) and remount holder (2).
Remount connector housing (3).
Part: Replace rivet (1).
Installation:
Install rear seat backrest (5).
If necessary, feed in cable.
Tighten screws (4) on left and right.
Tightening torque 52 10 2AZ .
Equipment specification with Isofix:
Attach holder (2) using the rivets (1).
Required follow-up work:
- Install the SEAT MODULE .
- Install the LOWER STRAP .
- Install the seat cover with upholstery. Refer to: DRIVER'S SEAT (NORMAL/MANUAL) or DRIVER'S SEAT (SPORT/MANUAL) .
