Remove prop shaft
CAUTION:

- Note component's center of gravity.
- Support component using a jack.
- Secure component against falling off the jack.

Damage to prop shaft during removal.
Non-observance of the removal guidelines for the prop shaft on the rear axle differential may cause severe damage.

- Do not disassemble the three-hole flange, flexible disc and prop shaft. The three-hole flange to the rear axle differential is balanced with the flexible disc and prop shaft.
- Loosen the recessed nut against the direction of travel in clockwise direction. The prop shaft must be loosened on the recessed nut only and exclusively in the direction of rotation otherwise the anti-twist lock of the bi-hexagonal flange nut is damaged.
- In the event of a damaged anti-twist lock on the bi-hexagonal flange nut: Replace the rear axle differential.
NOTE:
The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Loosen nuts (1) .
- Loosen the lock (2) .
- Feed out intake port (3)
and remove.NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Detach rubber retainer (1) from intake filter housing.
- Loosen screw (2) .
- Unlock connector (3) and detach from hot film air mass meter.
- Release clamp (4) and detach the clean air pipe from the intake filter housing.
- Pull out and remove the intake silencer housing (5)
from the rubber mounts towards the top.
Manual emergency release of parking lock (AISINGA8G45)
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
In case of a power interruption (for example by a discharged battery or an electrical fault), the parking lock must be unlocked manually, otherwise the wheels will be blocked and the vehicle cannot move.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Secure the vehicle from rolling away, for example with chocks.
Press the brakes in case of manually unlocking the parking lock. Otherwise there is a risk that the vehicle may roll away while manually unlocking the parking lock.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION

- vehicles with lever:
Turn the selector shaft with the lever from the Parking position (1) to the stop at the Neutral position (2) .
The parking lock is unlocked.
- Vehicles without lever:
Using a wrench with key range 6, turn the selector shaft from the Parking position (1) to the stop at the Neutral position (2) .
The parking lock is unlocked.
- Install special tool 2 407 851 between the front and rear prop shaft.
- Ensure that the arrows on special tool 2 407 851 point forward in the driving direction.
- It is imperative that you support the prop shaft (1)
using a standard jack.
- Secure the prop shaft (1) using special tools 0 495 554 (33 5 070)
and 0 496 959 (33 0 080) to prevent
it from turning.
- Loosen screws (1)

- Remove screws (arrows).
- Guide out the prop shaft in the arrow direction and keep it aside.NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the transfer box.
Non-observance of the removal and installation guidelines may cause severe damage to the transfer box.- Do not use the double hexagon head flange nut as counter support.
- Secure recessed nut (2)
on the transfer box using special tools 0 495 554 (33 5 070) and 0 496 959 (33 0 080) to prevent it from turning
.
Recessed nut (2) on the transfer box must not be used for releasing the prop shaft.
The twelve-edge flange nut (1) may not be used as a counter support.
- Release the front prop shaft in the arrow direction using special tools 0 495 554 (33 5 070) and 0 496 959 (33 0 080)
- Feed out prop shaft (2)
from the recessed nut (1)
and remove.
- Guide out and remove retaining clip (1)
and seal (2)
.
- Feed out the recessed nut (1)
and remove.
