Replacing Rear Left Outer Wheel Arch Section (Rear Quarter Panel Removed) (Cooper, Cooper S, John Cooper Works)

Procedure OBSERVE  repair stage 3!

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

For stripping and rebuilding operations, refer to surrounding text on the KSD (FRU number 41 14 505).

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .

Use only an approved SPOT WELDER  for repairs!

The following new parts are required (see Electronic Parts Catalog):

1. Rear outer wheel arch section
2. Shaped part window cavity
3. Shaped part B-pillar, rear outer

Removal 

Remove cavity sealings (1).

Open welded connections in areas (1).

OPEN  spot-welded adhesive joints in area (2) and remove outer wheel arch section.

New part preparation

Remove adhesive residues in the area (2).

Adjust new part in combination with the side panel.

Prepare outer wheel arch section in areas (1) and (2) for joining by welding.

Installation

Install outer wheel arch section and weld in areas (1) and (2).

Apply sealant to new CAVITY SEALINGS . Install cavity sealings (1).
