72 11 097 Removing and installing/replacing rear center lower strap lining (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

WARNING: Read and comply with SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnic seat belt tensioners.

Installation note:

Clean all threaded belt connections with micro-encapsulated outer and internal threads.
Shavings or other debris must not remain in the components.
If a microencapsulated screw is reused, it must be coated with the following screw locking agent: Loctite 243, medium strength.
The screw connection must be completed within 10 minutes as hardening begins after this period.

Preliminary work needed:

Remove the rear seat. Refer to 52 26 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SEAT (COUNTRYMAN 2017-2023, EXCEPT PHEV) or 52 26 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SEAT BENCH (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV) .

Removal:

Press upholstery (1) to one side.

Remove screw (2).

Remove lower strap lining (1).

Installation:

Feed in lower strap (1).

NOTE: Lower strap is encoded against incorrect assembly (1).

Press upholstery (1) to one side.

Tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 72 11 23AZ .

Required follow-up work:

Install rear seat. Refer to 52 26 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SEAT (COUNTRYMAN 2017-2023, EXCEPT PHEV) or 52 26 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SEAT BENCH (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV) .
