65 77 016 Removing and installing/replacing airbag control unit - V.1 (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

WARNING: NOTE AIRBAG SAFETY REGULATIONS! .
Failure to observe correct procedures can deploy the airbag and cause injuries.

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with NOTES on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD protection).

Preliminary work needed:

Removal:

Slacken nut (1).

Remove screw (2).

Remove the holder (3) with the air duct.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Unlock plug connections (2) and disconnect.

Remove airbag control unit (3).

Installation:

Position airbag control unit (3).

Tighten down nuts (1).

Join and lock plug connections (2).

Install the holder (3) with the air duct.

Tighten screw (2).

Tighten nut (1).

Required reworking:

Install CENTER CONSOLE .
Connect BATTERY GROUND LEAD .
Run the service function to adjust the sensors for the driving dynamics as follows:
- Chassis
- Traction control system
- Adjustment of the driving dynamics sensors
