51 44 011 Removing and installing or replacing headlining (with sliding/tilting sunroof) (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)

Preliminary work needed:

Complete removal only:

Removal:

Detach the trim (1) from the clip (2) and feed out towards the front.

Feed the safety belt out of the trim (1).

Pull out the trim (1).

Compress the clamps (2) and feed the cover (3) out of the headlining.

NOTE: On the version with a sun visor, the sun visor can be removed the same way.

Version with luggage compartment separation net:

Unclip the stand for the luggage compartment separation net (1).

Feed out the retaining strap (2).

Slide driver's seat fully forwards and fold back backrest.

Slide front passenger seat fully forwards and fold back backrest.

Release expanding rivets (1 and 2).

Release edge protection in area of headlining.

Lay headlining (3) downwards.

If removing completely:

Feed out headlining (3) over windshield opening with the aid of a second person.

Installation:

Bring headlining (3) into installation position.

Mount expanding rivets (1 and 2).

Version with luggage compartment separation net:

Feed in retaining strap (2) into the stand for the luggage compartment separation net (1).

Clip in the stand for the luggage compartment separation net (1) into headlining.

Insert the cover (3) into the headlining.

Make sure the clamps (2) are properly latched.

Insert the trim (1).

NOTE: On the version with a sun visor, the sun visor can be installed the same way.

Feed safety belt into the trim (1).

Feed in the trim (1) and clip in with the clip (2).
