26 12 001 Removing and installing/replacing complete propeller shaft center bearing (Countryman base ALL4 AWD, Countryman S ALL4 AWD, Countryman JCW ALL4 AWD)

Preliminary work needed:
- Remove PROPELLER SHAFT .
Removal:
The front and rear propeller shaft must be re-assembled in the same installation position.
Mark front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2) in one plane.
Hold propeller shaft (1) with special tool 33 5 070 and 33 0 080 .
Loosen nut from propeller shaft (2) with special tool 33 5 070 and 33 0 080 .
Pull apart propeller shaft.
Remove sealing ring (1), circlip (2) and flange nut (3).
Install special tool 00 7 500 between central mount (1) and propeller shaft (2).
Push off central mount (1) from the propeller shaft (2) using a hydraulic press.
Install special tool 00 7 500 between grooved ball bearing (1) and propeller shaft (2).
Using a hydraulic press, force deep groove ball bearing (1) off propeller shaft (2).
Installation:
Parts: Replace grooved ball bearing.
Use special tool 23 2 430 to press new grooved ball bearing (1) on to propeller shaft (2).
Parts: Replace central mount.
Push new central mount (1) onto grooved ball bearing and press on with special tool 23 2 430.
Parts: Replace flange nut, circlip and sealing ring.
Install sealing ring (3), circlip (2) and flange nut (1).
Push propeller shaft together and secure.
Tightening torque: 26 11 5AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Install PROPELLER SHAFT .
