Releasing the electromechanical parking brake in an emergency (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)
Preliminary work needed :
- Remove the EMF ACTUATOR on the left and right.
IMPORTANT:
Secure the vehicle against rolling, e.g. with chocks!
Turn back the spindle of the brake caliper clockwise using an Allen wrench (1) key range 7.
Turn back until the wheel can turn freely.
IMPORTANT:
Do not turn the spindle to the end stop.
At the end stop, a fault code is set which will cause the system to deactivate!
If this is the case, delete the fault memory.

NOTE:
Start-up after open circuit:
- Switch on ignition
- Press brake button with brake pedal pressed.
- The indicator light in the dashboard goes out as soon as the parking brake is released.
