66 51 030 Remove and install/replace KAFAS camera (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)
Attention!
Read and comply with notes on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD PROTECTION ).
Removal:
Spread the two-piece cover of the mirror base (1) using a suitable plastic wedge and detach it.
Feed out two-part mirror base cover (1) and remove.
Disconnect plug connection (1).
Detach cable (2).
Unlock the retaining clip (3) and carefully feed out the camera (4) to the side and remove.
Installation:
NOTE:
Guides (2) on the camera (1) must be guided correctly into the counter supports on the windshield!
Make sure camera (1) is securely seated.
Make sure camera (1) is securely seated.
Carefully guide the camera (4) in and snap it into the retaining clip (3).
Attach cable (2).
Connect plug connection (1).
NOTE:
The detents of the two-piece mirror base cover (1) must not be damaged.
Feed in the two pieces of the cover of the mirror base (1) individually and lock them together.
When replacing the KAFAS camera or the windshield:
Carry out the service function:
- Driver assistance
- Camera-based driver support systems
- Calibration of camera-based driver support systems
NOTE:
Calibration of the KAFAS camera is not completed until the user is driving in road traffic.
Tell the customer that some driver assistance systems are temporarily unavailable for a short period.

NOTE:
Heating of the KAFAS camera is integrated into the windshield.
If the heating is faulty the windshield must be replaced!
