13 71 035 Remove clean air pipe (B36, B38)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove ACOUSTIC COVER

Removal:

Release clamps (1).

Release clean air pipe (2) from intake silencer housing.

Release screws (1).

Release wiring harness from cylinder head cover.

Release screw (1).

Lay wiring loom (2) to one side.

Remove sound insulation (1) from high-pressure pump.

Release ventilation line (1) from clean air pipe.

Detach ventilation line (2) from cylinder head cover.

Unlock clamp (3).

Raise clean air pipe slightly until connector (4) is accessible from heating element on clean air pipe.

Unlock plug (4) and remove.

Feed out clean air pipe and remove.

Installation:

Feed in clean air pipe and attach connector (4) to heating element.

Connector (4) must snap audibly into place.

Attach clean air pipe to exhaust turbocharger. Lock clamp (3).

Clamp (3) must audibly snap into place.

Connect ventilation line (1) to clean air pipe.

Connect ventilation line (2) to cylinder head cover.

Install sound insulation (1).

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 13 71 6AZ .

Lay wiring harness (2).

Tighten down screws (1) of wiring harness mounting.

Release clamps (1).

Tightening torque 13 71 3AZ .

Release clean air pipe (2) from intake silencer housing.
