Removing and installing/replacing the auxiliary water pump (B36 engine) (Cooper base)
Preliminary work needed:
- Drain COOLANT .
Removal:
NOTE:
Illustration shows B48A engine.
Remove screw (1).
Pull the auxiliary coolant pump (2) slightly forwards.
Unlock and disconnect the connector (1) of the auxiliary coolant pump.
Unlock coolant hose (1) and detach auxiliary coolant pump.
Unlock coolant hose (1) and detach auxiliary coolant pump (2).
Remove auxiliary water pump (2).
Installation:
NOTE:
Illustration shows B48A engine.
Install auxiliary coolant pump (1).
Connect coolant hose (2) to auxiliary coolant pump (1).
NOTE:
The coolant hose (2) must engage audibly.
Connect coolant hose (1) to auxiliary coolant pump.
NOTE:
The coolant hose (1) must audibly engage.
Connect the connector (1).
NOTE:
Illustration shows B48A engine.
Fasten auxiliary coolant pump with screw (1).
Tightening torque 11 51 4AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Add COOLANT .
- Check cooling system for leaks
