Install BOTH SEALS on the roof frame at the rear
Install TRIM STRIPS on the convertible top and AUXILIARY BRAKE LIGHT
Perform FUNCTIONAL CHECKS

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
An excessive convertible top tension not only increases the closing force but also gives the convertible top the characteristic of a 'drum'. The wind forces encountered when driving as well as impacting rain drops then really "drum" on the convertible top fabric and significantly impair the acoustics in the vehicle interior. A convertible top fabric with insufficient tension "sags" and tends to "beat" at high speeds.
The dimensions and tolerances of the convertible top linkage and the convertible top fabric have been designed so that it is not necessary to correct the tension. A new convertible top fabric always has a somewhat 'tight' fit initially after installation. After the vehicle remains stationary with a closed convertible top for some time, the convertible top fabric 'settles' so that the closing forces are again normal.
Advise customers of the temporarily increased closing forces.

NOTE: The operations shown only for one side must be carried out on both sides.

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the holder on the convertible top (C-pillar).
Handling of the convertible top fabric may result in damage to the holder in the area of the C-pillar.

Handle the convertible top fabric in the area of the C-pillar carefully and do not kink it.

Version A:
The holder for the C-pillar (1) in the area (2) is sewn into the convertible top fabric (5).

No insert (3) must be installed.
Build date B:

The holder for the C-pillar (1) is shortened and not sewn into the convertible top fabric (5).

The insert (3) is inserted in the convertible top fabric (5) and bonded to the reinforcement (4).

The insert (3) must be installed and retrofitted as needed.

Cover the side panel in the working area to protect the body from damage.
Spray a soapy solution onto the rail in the convertible top brace.
Insert the convertible top fabric (1) into the convertible top brace with the help from an support person.

Align convertible top fabric (1) on the center mark to the convertible top brace (2).

Fasten the luggage strap (1) with rivets (2).
Make sure that the luggage strap (1) is not twisted.
Fold the lug (3) together and fasten it with a rivet (4) on the frame.

Position the luggage strap (1) with the spring (2) and the loop (3) and fasten it with the rivets (4).
Remove adhesive tape (5).

Fold the luggage strap (1) as shown and fasten it this way with the rivet (2) on the frame.

Attach the tension cable (1) in the spring (2) and the C-pillar.
Make sure that the tension cable (1) is only attached with the plastic sheathing in the C-pillar.

Raise the convertible top fabric (1) slightly above the convertible top frame on the side.
Push the convertible top fabric (1) slightly downwards and attach the guide (2) in the stand (3).

Pull the cover on the rail down and tighten the bolt (1) in this position.

Insert the bow (1) into the convertible top fabric.
Attach the bow (1) on both sides.
The convertible top brace must not be locked.

Attach holder (1) with the guide (2) in the convertible top frame (3).

Prescrew the nut (1).

Position the convertible top fabric (2) on the front strut in the direction of the arrow.
Clip in the detents (1) in the highlighted area.
Close the convertible top completely and open it again.
Check to make sure that the convertible top fabric (2) is latched correctly.

Attach tension cable (2).
Secure the tension cable (2) with the new adhesive tape (1) 50x50 mm.
Bond the adhesive tape (1) up to the sheet metal edge.
Close soft top completely.

Use the butyl (1) to close the rails on the convertible top brace.

Open the convertible top half way to reduce the convertible top tension.
Position the convertible top fabric on the bolt.
Insert the retaining clip (1).
Make sure that the retaining clip (1) is fitted correctly.

Close the convertible top and lock the locking lever of the convertible top braces on the left and right.
Guide the cable (1) through the lugs (2) on the convertible top fabric.
Connect the plug connection on the cable (1) and lock. The plug connection must snap audibly into place.

Insert Velcro fasteners (1) in the area (2) in the headlining.

Clean the adhesive area (1).
Fix double-sided adhesive tape over the entire width of the adhesive area.

Installing the trim panel for the rear case

Prerequisite

The convertible top is opened half way.

In the center, install four new clips (1) and install one lock nut (2) each on the left and right sides.
