Removing and installing/replacing oil-to-water heat exchanger (B36 engine) (Cooper base)
Risk of scalding!
Only perform this repair work after the engine has cooled down.
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of drained coolant.
Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove FULL-FLOW OIL FILTER .
Removal:
Unscrew the screws (1).
Remove heat exchanger.
Replace gaskets (3) on full-flow oil filter (2).
Installation:
NOTE:
All sealing surfaces and gaskets must be cleaned and free of oil.
Replace gaskets (3).
Place oil-to-water heat exchanger (1) on full-flow oil filter (2).
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque: 11 42 8AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Install FULL-FLOW OIL FILTER .
