Removing and installing the radiator (B36, B37, B38, B46, B47, B48) (Cooper)
WARNING:
Risk of scalding!
Only carry out repair on the cooling system after the engine has cooled down!
Only carry out repair on the cooling system after the engine has cooled down!
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove A/C CONDENSER
- Drain COOLANT .
- Remove FAN COWL .
- If fitted:
Remove the left and right BRAKE VENTILATION DUCT - Removal: - Unlock and detach coolant line (1) on the right at the radiator - Unlock and detach coolant line (2) on the left at the radiator - Unlock and detach coolant ventilation line (3) on the left at the radiator
Release screws (1) on charge air cooler.
Feed out radiator (1) toward top and remove.
Installation: - Feed in radiator (1) to the charge air cooler.
Tighten down screws (1) - Tightening torque 17 10 2AZ .
Connect coolant lines (1), (2) and (3) at the radiator - All coolant lines must audibly engage.
Required follow-up work:
- Install AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER .
- Install FAN COWL .
- Top up COOLANT .
- If fitted:
Install the left and right BRAKE VENTILATION DUCT .
