Replace The Left Or Right D-Pillar (Tail Panel And Rear Quarter Panel Removed) (Cooper, Cooper S, John Cooper Works)

Procedure OBSERVE repair stage 3!

Use only an approved SPOT WELDER for repairs!

Following new body parts are required (see Electronic Parts Catalog):

Inner D-pillar
water channel reinforcement

Removal

Open welded connections in area (1).

New part preparation

Prepare new parts for joining by welding.

Adjust new parts in combination with tail panel and side panel.

NOTE: The tail panel and side panel serve as a positioning aid in this operation and during installation. New parts are not welded to the tail panel and side panel during installation. New parts are joined to the tail panel with bonded rivets.

Installation

Install and fasten the new parts in combination with the tail panel and side panel.

Weld new parts in areas (1) and (2).

NOTE: Do not weld new parts to tail panel or side panel.
