Removing and installing rear bumper panel (Cooper Convertible)

- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Preliminary work needed:
- Remove WHEEL HOUSING PLATES from bumper cover
- Remove TAIL LIGHTS .
Removal:
Release left and right screws (1).
Unscrew the screws (1).
Release bumper cover (1) from detents in marked areas (2).
Disconnect plug connections for rear fog light/ultrasonic sensor.
Remove bumper cover (1) with a second person helping.
Installation:
Position bumper cover (1) with the aid of a second person.
Connect plug connections for rear fog light/ultrasonic sensor.
Clip in bumper cover (1) in detents in marked areas (2).
Tighten down screws (1).
Tighten screws (1) on left and right.
Tightening torque 51 12 3AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Install WHEEL HOUSING PANELS .
- Install TAIL LIGHTS .
- Adjust gap dimension on bumper cover
