Removing and installing/replacing servomotor for eccentric shaft (B36 engine) (Cooper base)
Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove ACOUSTIC COVER .
Removal:
Unlock and disconnect connector (1).
Unscrew the screws (1).
Attention!
Risk of damage to intermediate shaft.
Release intermediate shaft:
Turn servomotor (1) in arrow direction to the left by means of reversible ratchet (2) and 4 mm Allen wrench.
Remove actuator drive.
Installation:
Installation note:
When the servomotor for the eccentric shaft is being installed, the gearing must be thinly and evenly greased with the lubricating GREASE LONGTIME PD-1 OVERVIEW OF CONSUMABLES 4.1 .
Detach and replace gasket (1) in arrow direction.
Grease the gearing (1) of the servomotor for the eccentric shaft (2) in the marked area .
Parts : lubricating grease
Insert controller drive (1) as far as the gearing.
Screw in controller drive (1) using reversible ratchet (2) and 4 mm Allen wrench in arrow direction up to stop.
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque: 11 37 2AZ .
Connect the connector (1).
Diagnosis path : Service functions -> Drivetrain -> Digital Motor Electronics -> Adjustment programs -> Teach-in Valvetronic limit positions.
Required follow-up work:
- Install the ACOUSTIC COVER .
