Preliminary work

Remove the TRIM PANEL for the rear case

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage due to shavings.
Contamination can lead to malfunctions and damage.

Cover working area.
Draw off shavings during drilling using a vacuum cleaner.

NOTE: When both headlinings must be replaced, complete one side first to check the cable routing.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
For the following task, the convertible top must be shifted electrically several times. In order to ensure the accessibility and the function, the trunk lid must be opened and the tailgate lock must be manually locked.
Only shift the convertible top in short steps and ensure that no parts are trapped.

Manually lock the left tailgate lock at the striker (1).
Open the folding sunroof by a few cm to relieve the tension of the convertible top fabric.
Detach the trim (1) towards the rear.

Carefully loosen the convertible top fabric (1) from the front strut (2).
Remove remnants of the double-sided adhesive tape.

NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
Loosen adhesive tape (1).
Detach tension cable (2).

Unclip the detents (1) at the front in the highlighted area.
Remove convertible top fabric (2) from the front strut in the direction of the arrow and fold to the rear.

Detach the wire bow (1) on both sides.

Loosen clamps (1).
Loosen the cable clip (2).
Remove convertible top fabric (3) over the entire width from the frame.
Remove remnants of the double-sided adhesive tape.

Unfasten nut (1).

Pull holder (1) slightly to the back to detach the guide (2) from the convertible top frame (3).

Feed out tension cable (2) behind the linkage (3).
