WARNING:
Working on 12 V electrical system.

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

- Loosen nut 1 .
- Disconnect battery ground cable 2 from the vehicle battery.
- Unlock and loosen connector 3 .
- Feed out battery ground cable 2
and set it aside.
- Loosen expanding rivet (arrow).
- Remove the mounting for the seal 1
.
- Release screws (arrows) and remove tension strut 1
.
- Detach nut from positive battery cable 1 .
- Disconnect positive battery cable 1
and set it aside.WARNING: Unprotected battery terminals.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!- Cover the vehicle battery.
- Disconnect the air bleeder hose (arrow) from the battery 2 .
- Unscrew the screw 3 and guide it out with the holder and remove.
- Guide out and remove vehicle battery 4 .
