52 26 015 Removing and installing or replacing left or right rear seat backrest

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: (Coupe Only)

Remove rear head restraint. Refer to 52 26 390 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT HEAD RESTRAINT .
Remove panel for rear window shelf. Refer to 51 46 003 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM FOR ODDMENTS TRAY (REAR PARCEL SHELF) .

Unlock backrests and fold down.

Installation:

Do not trap the seat belt when folding up the backrest.

Release screw (1).

Open lock (2) for center retaining fixture in direction of arrow.

Remove backrest from center retaining fixture.

NOTE: Backrest is detached at an angle of approx. 45° from outer retaining fixture (1).

Remove backrest from outer retaining fixture (1).
