51 21 140 Removing and installing/replacing complete lock cylinder in left or right front door

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Remove outside handle on front door. Refer to 51 21 170 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING OUTSIDE HANDLE ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR .

Remove rubber plug (1) and screw (2).

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque, refer to 51 21 4AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Position door lock (1) downwards a little.

Feed out lock cylinder (2) in area (A) and remove.

Installation:

Paddle (3) must be correctly inserted in door lock (1).

Installation:

Paddle (1) on lock cylinder (1) must not be damaged or missing.
