41 14 511 Rear Left Wheel Arch Complete Replacement (Rear Left Side Panel Removed)

Spot-weld bonding is used for the first time on the E65. A specific procedure must be followed here.

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

Following new body parts are required:

• Wheel arch, outer, rear
• Wheel arch, inner, rear
• Reinforcement, C-pillar, inner
• Support, luggage compartment floor

Mark severance cut on inner C-pillar reinforcement in accordance with measurement a and cut.

Measurement a = approx. 150 mm from roof edge.

Open weld joints in areas (1).

Secure door opening at welding spot flanges with support strut (1) (refer to WORKSHOP EQUIPMENT & PLANNING CD , Chapter 7).

Mark severance cut on outer wheel arch in accordance with measurement a and cut.

Measurement a = approx. 200 mm from roof edge.

Installation: 

On severance cuts, install reinforcing plate approx. 30 mm long.

Mark severance cut (2) in accordance with new part, add 20 mm to rear for overlap and cut.

Open weld joints in area (3).

Open weld joints in area (1).

Remove luggage compartment floor support (2).

Open weld joints in area (1).

Remove inner wheel arch (2).

Installation: 

Adjust new part to fit with straightening attachment or universal mount.

Preparation of new part: 

Mark severance cut (1) in accordance with body and cut.
