17 00 039 Vent cooling system and check on watertightness

WARNING:
Risk of scalding! Only remove lid once engine has cooled down.
The cooling system is vented when it is topped up.

Also, check cooling system for WATER LEAKS .
Checking coolant level:
Allow the engine to cool down before checking the coolant level.
Coolant temperature must not exceed 30 °C.
If the ambient temperature is above 30 °C, wait until the engine has cooled down to ambient temperature.
Top up coolant. See DRAINING/TOPPING UP COOLANT (N16) , DRAINING/TOPPING UP COOLANT (N18) , or BLEED/FILL COOLING SYSTEM WITH VACUUM FILLING UNIT .
