13 64 501 Removing and installing or replacing a fuel injector (N16)

Necessary preliminary work:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit.
Switch off ignition.
Remove FUEL INJECTION PIPE

Recycling

Fuel escapes when fuel line is detached. Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

NOTE: This procedure is applicable to all fuel injectors.

Lever out fuses (1).

Pull the fuel injector (2) out off the fuel injection pipe.

Installation note:

Replace sealing rings on fuel injectors and coat with rubber care product.

NOTE:

Assemble engine.

Check fuel system for TIGHTNESS .

Check stored fault messages.

Delete fault memory.
