11 00 670 Secure engine in installation position (N14, N16, N18)

Special tools required:

WARNING: Danger of injury!
Observe following instructions relating to special tool :

Prior to each use, check the special tools for defects, modifications and operational reliability.
Damaged/modified special tools must not be used!
No changes or modifications may be made to the special tools!
Keep special tools dry, clean and free of grease.

Modification:

Remove front facings from adapter 00 6 030 .

Attach special tool 00 0 490 on left and right to 00 6 030 .

Assemble cross-member 00 6 100 with special tools 00 6 130 , 00 6 030 and 00 6 080 .

Position assembled cross-member 00 6 100 on spring strut dome with a 2nd person helping.

IMPORTANT: Do not damage Bowden cable of engine compartment lid unlocking!

Secure special tool 00 0 490 to side member with knurled screws (1).

Align transverse member 00 6 100 so that spindle is correctly positioned over suspension lug.

WARNING: Danger of injury!
Tighten down all adjusting screws, knurled screws and nuts on cross-member 00 6 100 and on special tool 00 0 490 .

Attach hook (1) 00 6 080 to suspension lug.

IMPORTANT: Avoid a change of engine position in the transverse or longitudinal direction.
Always make sure there is sufficient clearance between the engine (or its add-on parts) and the body.

IMPORTANT: Complete the following tasks without fail before raising the engine.

Left side only:

Remove TRANSMISSION SUPPORT BRACKET

Right side only:

Slacken nut (1).

Installation note:

Replace self-locking nut.

Tightening torque 22 11 2AZ .

IMPORTANT: Avoid overelongation of rubber mounts in bracket (1) when raising.

Slacken bolts (2) and (3).

Installation note:

Secure engine first to engine or transmission mounts and then tighten down bolts (2) and (3).

Tightening torque 22 11 6AZ .
