11 22 510 Removing and installing/replacing flywheel (transmission removed - N63O1)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove automatic transmission. See applicable procedure for drivetrain configuration: 24 00 034 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (GA8HP70Z) N63 or 24 00 034 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (GA8HP70Z) N63 AWD .
Remove manual transmission. See 23 00 018 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRANSMISSION (GS6-53BZ) (N63) .
Remove clutch. See 21 21 500 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING CLUTCH (SAC 240) .

Manual transmission:

Secure flywheel (1) with special tool 11 9 260 .

Automatic transmission:

Release flywheel screws in area (1).

Remove flywheel (2).

Installation note:

Clean thread of flywheel bolts in crankshaft.

Flywheel (2) is secured with an alignment pin.

Fit flywheel (2).

Fit new flywheel screws.

Tightening torque 11 22 1AZ .

Release flywheel screws in area (1).

Remove flywheel (2).

Installation note:

Fit flywheel (2).

Fit new flywheel screws.

Tightening torque 11 22 1AZ .

Reassemble the vehicle.
