CV Joint Boot: Installation

On wheel-side joint, slide new sleeve and seal onto shaft. Pack joint with grease from the repair kit. Mount joint on shaft. Ensure joint rests on the new ring on the shaft. Press ring into groove and tap joint onto shaft. See Fig 1 . Slide sleeve onto joint and shaft and make sure seal beading of sleeve fits in grooves. See Fig 2 . Secure clips on sleeve. See Fig 3 . On transmission-side joint, slide sleeve onto joint and shaft and make sure that seal beading of sleeve fits in grooves. Install clips. See Fig 4 .
