Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2008 MINI Cooper, 2007 MINI Cooper, 2006 MINI Cooper, 2005 MINI Cooper, and 2004 MINI Cooper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remove fan for power steering. Draw hydraulic fluid out of tank and do not reuse. Release hose clamp (1) and intake line. Remove intake line with power steering pump and, while removed, disconnect intake line from power steering pump.

Release plug connector (1) and pull off. Disconnect plug connection (2) in straight direction, otherwise damage may be caused.

Release screw (1) and disconnect pressure line.

Unfasten screws (1).

Slacken nut (1). Replace self-locking nuts. Remove-power steering pump (2) with bracket.

When replacing power steering pump, release nuts (1) on all four rubber mounts. Release screws (2) and remove rubber mounts (3). Replace damaged rubber mounts (3). Bleed power steering system. See BLEEDING .
