62 10 100 Removing and installing/replacing steering column rev counter

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unlock the latch mechanism of the connector housing and the holder for the plug connection.

Remove connector housing from the holder for the plug connection.

Undo and remove screws (1) on the back of the rev counter (2).

Pull the rev counter (2) contrary to the direction of travel and remove it.

Installation note: 

Make sure rev counter wiring harness is correctly laid.

Replacement: 

Carry out PROGRAMMING/ENCODING .
