51 24 305 Removing and installing/replacing gas strut for left or right splitdoor

NOTE: Make a written record of the alignment of the gas pressure support(s) before removing. Right and left gas pressure spring (2) do not match.

Slide retaining spring (1) to end of gas pressure spring (2) and lever out gas pressure spring (2) from holder.

Repeat procedure at other end of gas pressure spring (2) and remove gas pressure spring (2).

Installation note:

Prior to installing the gas pressure spring, check the secure seat of ball stud (1) on body (2) and split door (3).

Tightening torque 51 24 14AZ .
