41 11 301 Replacing entrance with left door post (partial replacement, B-pillar, rear side panel removed)

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Remove or cover those vehicle components in the repair area which are susceptible to heat or dust.

Use only an approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS for repairs!

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

The following new body parts are required:

(1) Side frame, outer
(2) Shaped part, B-pillar inner left (not shown)
(3) Shaped part, B-pillar, bottom left (not shown)
(4) Shaped part, B-pillar, rear bottom left (not shown)

Removing entrance cover with door post

Mark separation points in accordance with specified dimensions and disconnect.

IMPORTANT: Cut outer panel only for following severance cuts.

Dimension a = approx. 120 mm to rear of elongated hole 12 x 18 mm.

Dimension b = approx. 70 mm from roof edge.

Dimension c = approx. 100 mm below severance cut b.

Dimension d = approx. 300 mm behind rear edge of B-pillar.

Remove cavity sealing (1).

Open welded connections in areas (1).

Installation note:

Cut out metal section (2) is needed again.

Mark separation point in accordance with specified dimension and disconnect.

IMPORTANT: Cut outer panel only.

Dimensions a = approx. 120 mm from roof edge.

Remove the entrance cover.

Preparation of new part:

Mark severance cuts on new parts according to severance cuts on vehicle and sever.

Adjust new part to fit with set of attachments or universal mount.

Prepare REINFORCEMENT PLATES at severance cuts.

Installing entrance cover with door post

Bond new CAVITY SEALINGS with sealant in areas (1).

In area (1) replace sealing with body sealant.

Apply sealant to new cavity acoustic baffle. Install cavity sealing.

Install new part with alignment bracket or universal mount and weld.
