12 42 500 Replacing the positive battery cable between the starter motor, alternator and positive battery connection point (N16)
Necessary preliminary work:
- Read out fault memory of DME control unit.
- Switch off ignition.
- Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
- Remove air intake hose.
- Remove LOCK BRIDGE
- Disconnect the positive battery cable from the positive battery terminal. Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .
- Unlock connector on bulkhead and disconnect.
Unlock connector (1) and remove.
Release nut and disconnect the positive battery cable (2).
Tightening torque 12 41 2AZ .
Unlock connector (1) and remove.
Release nut and disconnect the positive battery cable (2).
Tightening torque 12 31 2AZ .
Release screws.
Tightening torque 12 51 3AZ .
Feed out air wiring harness (1) and remove.
NOTE:
Check stored fault messages.
Delete fault memory.
