61 31 068 Removing and installing/replacing switch for front passenger airbag deactivation

WARNING: Read and comply with SAFETY REGULATIONS for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt pretensioners.
Incorrect handling can lead to airbag deployment and cause injury.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE
Remove SIDE COVER from cover for air outlet vent on right

Unlock latch mechanisms (1).

Feed out switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (2) in direction of the arrow from the cover lid of the air vent.

Installation note:

Make sure switch for front passenger airbag deactivation (2) is correctly seated in the cover lid for the air vent.

Replacement:

Remove LOCK BARREL FOR FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG DEACTIVATION .
