51 41 018 Replacing speaker trim on front left or right door trim panel

Remove front door trim panel. Refer to 51 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT DOOR TRIM PANEL .

IMPORTANT: Make sure the door trim panel is not damaged when the plastic weld joints are cut.

Remove and dispose of foam seal (1).

Cut plastic weld joints (2).

Pull speaker trim (3) out of door trim panel (4).

Install new speaker frame (1).

Press retaining rings (2) onto plastic pins (3).

Shorten all plastic pins (3) to measurement (4).

4. 1.5 mm.

Installation:

Make sure the retaining rings are correctly seated on the plastic pins.

Make sure the foam seal is correctly located to avoid speaker crackling.
