54 34 337 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right gasket

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

WARNING: For all work, secure soft top with a suitable support tool against collapsing.
Ensure soft top is supported in the middle.

New part is delivered together with gasket support.

On replacement, pull off new gasket from gasket support. Only replace gasket carrier if there is damage.

Detach gasket (1) from gasket support.

Installation note:

Coat the seal with G14 lubricant to facilitate installation (sourcing reference: BMW Group Parts).

Make sure seal (1) is correctly seated on seal carrier (2).

Perform function check:

Align front gasket to A-pillar gasket and center gasket.

Side window must run into gasket correctly and rest in gasket over entire width.

If necessary, adjust SIDE WINDOW .

Installation note:

Gasket (1) must rest cleanly in pocket of cowl panel gasket (2).

Pocket (2) must not be crushed.
