54 34 100 Adjusting soft top

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

NOTE: The soft top adjustment must be checked to the cowl panel.

The guide pins on the left and right must retract centrally into the guide bushes of the base plate.

Tolerance +/-3 mm.

If this is not possible, the entire soft top must be adjusted in the respective direction.

Replacement only:

Align new soft top with main bearing to mark.

Close soft top and check settings.

If necessary, make forward/back adjustments on main bearing.

Forward/back adjustment, main bearing:

Slacken screws (1), do not release fully.

Soft top must still be just movable.

Move soft top in the corresponding direction until the guide pins on the left and right retract centrally into the guide bushes of the base plate.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 54 34 01AZ .

Run a function check.

Side window must run into gasket correctly and rest in gasket over entire width.

If necessary, adjust SIDE WINDOW .

Setting the soft top tension:

Release left and right screws (1).

Tightening torque 54 34 10AZ .

Set the soft top tension by shifting the corner bow in the elongated holes.
