41 14 021 Replacing front left wheel arch
Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .
Use only approved SPOT-WELDING APPARATUS for repairs.
Place vehicle on straightening bench.
Observe procedure of REPAIR STAGE 3 .
Following new body parts are required:
- (1) Wheel arch, front
- (2) Carrier support, wheel arch, front,
- (3) Reinforcement, carrier support (not shown)
Following CONSUMABLES are required:

Removing wheel arch:
Open welded connections in area (1).
Open welded connections in areas (1).
Open welded connections in areas (1).
Open welded connections in areas (1).
Mark severance cut (1) before dia. 20 mm hole and cut.
Open welded connections in area (2).
Remove the wheel arch.
New part preparation wheel arch (welding technology)
Open welded connections in areas (1).
Open welded connections in areas (1).
Mark severance cut (2) in accordance with vehicle and cut.
Prepare REINFORCEMENT PLATE at severance cut.
Adjust new wheel arch with alignment bracket or universal mount.
New part preparation carrier support (bonding-riveting technology)
Adjust new support beam to fit and secure.
Set eleven 6.7 mm dia. bore holes for blind rivets in area (1).
Set 3 6.7 mm dia. bore holes for blind rivets in area (1).
Remove new parts again and deburr holes.
Installation of wheel arch (welding technology)
Adjust wheel arch and carrier support reinforcement with alignment bracket or universal mount and weld.
Installation of carrier support (bonding-riveting technology)
Clean bonding surfaces on vehicle and on new part with cleaning agent R1.
Apply adhesive to bonding surfaces (1).
Mount support carrier and rivet with blind rivets (1).
Fit an EMC SCREW at the A-pillar (1) after the adhesive has hardened.
